Are We Who We Say We Are??

The year has finally come to an end, with only three more days to 2013, I can’t agree more that this year’s journey has been very eventful. Some leaving spasms of joy and torrents of happiness painted on our hearts while others have left scars engraved on the same hearts. But, Do I say? We all managed to come this far. My year has been more or say similar to last year. At such of time, I was trying to restore some lost friendship. It seems like the same just happened. And more so, I’m the common denominator. I can proudly say, I did my best to see that our friendship stayed strong based on the foundation laid upon its pioneer. However, it seemed that I was the one who had been working towards tearing it down. Seriously, What happened to not giving a fuck??

I therefore decided to let it slide. It wasn’t worth carrying the misunderstandings over to a new year.

This got me wondering, do people really know themselves?? We do things that end up haunting us for the rest of our days in life. We forget that the past shall always remain in the past. Thoughts of the past only bring worry over our present lives. Its the reason that the percentage of successful people in our world is very small. This is just the people who really know who they are.

“Worry pulls tomorrow’s cloud over todays bright sunshine.”

Lets usher in the new year when we all know who we are and will make our lives better. Just take time to rediscover yourself.

I wanna wish you and your family Happy Holiday Seasons And A Prosperous 2013.

Take It Or Lose It

Fortune knocks once on a man’s door. Thats true given that this weeek I found myself in such a situation. I got the chance of a lifetime and am afraid of blowing it up. Should anything happen, I don’t want to miss this opportunity. I have put my mind to it and I believe I will emerge victorious. What about you?? Should it happen to you, how well prepared are you for this lifetime doors that are just opened once, and when closed, you just have to look for another door.

Perhaps, you should take into consideration the number of times one has let great opportunities slip their hands. They had the option of holding on to it and never let go. Unfortunately, their determination was harkened by their weaknesses. Maybe it wasn’t their fault, and that someone else is to blame. Thats what we tend to tell ourselves. We should however remember that, whatever we do, solely depends on us. Influence is always there, and will not cease to exist. At the end of the day, our choices are executed by us. Rendering us accountable for ALL our actions.

Our greatest enemy being man, we have to be careful of other people’s influence on us. Unless you share the same interests with someone, there is no point walking together. This is because, the relationship between you will end up being parsitic when it should have been symbiotic.

There comes a point in life that defines us. And thats when we really get to know what kind of persons we are, and the world gets to know us.

“Confessions…”

She tore her heart and poured out what she felt,

I saw no reason to hide any of my guilt,

It was a do or die for her and she couldn’t hold back,

For her heightened emotions had brimmed and her world had grown dark,

A streak of light being the one and only thing,

Which faded each time she did nothing,

Shyness had took away the little courage left in her,

My eagerness to hear what she had to utter ,

Was now beginning to make the void within me greater,

Never before had she made such an impression,

That was now making me trigger suspicion,

Life with her had always been worth every moment,

Without a single frown at any of my comment,

I could now feel her heart throbbing with anxiety,

Followed by her lips trembling with tranquility,

Taking a deep breathe as she opened her mouth,

I caught my breathe and leaned towards her,

Unfortunately, she couldn’t utter a word,

Raising my head in astonishment to glance at her,

I felt her soft trembling lips meet mine,

Hadn’t she said it all in what was more than a statement?

Freshman Year; Women Lie, Men Lie

Its been a while y’all but I  must agree that I had abandoned my blog until the silence could be sniffed a mile way. Its with much pleasure I wish to announcer my come back. From now on I will be blogging regularly. I know you miss the poems and all the stories not forgetting the worthy pieces of advice.

My freshman year at University has so far been an amazing experience. Its only been 5 weeks since I joined and so far, I’m loving it. Its whole different world compared to high school you know. Here, freedom is more than freedom itself. For those who have passed this stage you know what I’m talking asbout. However, Freedom can cease to be freedom when its misused. I happen to have met an uncle of mine like a week before I reported to college and he told me that he  had only two words for me, company and women. So thats what I have kept in mind ever since then. For sure His words have provern to be true as he spoke of them. Oh, did I mention that I’m in The University Of Nairobi? Now you know.

Women lie, men lie. But who lies more?? Apparently that has  been trending in the past one week. What do you think? Is it the men or women who lie most? Perhaps  we could look at it from a different perspective like, whose lies are profound? But still, according to me. A lie is a lie just like sin is is sin. And just to mention, women think they lie to protect men or for the interest of protecting their circles. Remember, one lie leads to another. If you choose that path, turning back is almost next to impossible but not impossible. Its the reason why Honesty can be so challenging.

As you ponder upon my feeling about lies, feel free to comment and share. Till next time, Adios!

To What End??

Well, well, what has become of our nation, our home, our country, Kenya? This has been occupying my mind this whole month. I just couldn’t end this month without mentioning a word. Their has been alot, but the most touching event of all has been the ongoing strikes. First it started with the teachers serving public schools, then the lecturers serving public universities and finally the doctors serving public universities.
The effects have been adverse. This is because of interrupted education and absence of proper health care services for the common ‘mwananchi’ whose dependent on government public services. Its remorseful because, the majority of Kenyans fall below the luxurious drawn line distinguishing the wealthy lot of citizens from the rest. Its a pity that government officials addressing such matters end up adding insult to injury the times they open their mouths address the media.
Its now been three weeks with nothing going down at schools. Most of them have been deserted and left to speak of unbearable silence. The change we want will not come by the threats being issued at the table of discussion. There needs to be atleast that one person that can stand and be counted as a voice of reason, but it seems like we lack such men and women in our current government. Apparently, I can generally say that there’s no parliamentarians who falls below the line drawn between the rich and the rest. They aren’t feeling the pinch since most of them if not all, have their children in private institutions and even others have some of their children abroad on further studies. Truly, only the shoe wearer can tell of how the pinch feels.
However, its only in a few months time that we will get to choose new leaders. Its my hope and prayer that we shouldn’t allow any ‘douche bags’ back into the government. It firsts start with electing good leaders then the rest will follow.
Though, amicable solutions are now trying to be put in place, I believe, they should have been done long before the strikes stretched to 3 weeks in a row. This is how I feel, and how most of all those with a heart of flesh feel.
Please share this with all your friends. Your comments be my inspiration.

PS: This article was highly influenced by a close friend, Lavender Merab. She is one of us, who feel this ongoing strikes should now come to an end.
